The OutRIDErZ Rainy Onkareshwar Ride.
Man!
Damn!!!
What a ride! For those who missed, I seriously feel pity for you. Lol. You missed it man!! Such rides are for once in life. Trust me! We all present in today’s ride had the time of our life riding our souls to infinity on our ZMA’s. Today it felt like never before in life. This is just not what I say, but what all of us ‘felt’. It was undoubtedly the best OutRIDErZ ride till date in all ways. I’ll tell why the best in all ways later.
Now let me begin with what I want all to know – All about today’s ride.
I was so excited that I remember the time too. Lol. So I’m going with it in the way I remember it. Please don’t abuse me if you don’t like it. You aren’t allowed to abuse the OutRIDErZ Indore Prez. ;-).
15th June 2008, Sunday.
0530 Hrs: I wake up, all charged because I know we are riding today. Yo Yo Yo!! Man! ZMA and I are going to make it today. The adrenaline rush for which I was longing from months. Was really very happy for the fact that the day is finally here. Just killed time doing something or the other.
0600 Hrs: Himanshu calls up and asks “Pankaj, there are clouds. So tell me, are we riding or not?” and I told him “Its not going to rain for some 4-5 hours. We will ride today. Let whatever happen. We can’t afford to miss such weather”. After the phone call, for once I thought… if it rains it’s going to make a huge mess. But this is what my mind said. My heart said- Do I really care if it rains? I shall never miss a moment like this in life. Not now, never! And here I was. Got freshened up, dressed up and all set to ride my love. I took my camera along to capture the madness, the passion, the memories and moments so that we all can cherish ‘our’ times. The time OutRIDErZ is going to do something no one else did! Some consider it passion, some call it sheer stupidity and my group calls it ‘Life’. So in short, we lived it up. Here I leave my place with such amazing thoughts all over my heart and soul. I took my back pack with my cam, a poly bag, my shades, cell phones and wallet.
0645 Hrs: Ignited my ZMA with its sweet start up and here I get to hear even sweeter exhaust’s music. Did feed the cows with some grass near by, which I do daily and moved on. Ghar se hum chale, bas ek backpack… yeah… the Hero Honda Roadies 5.0 Track! I remember, I was singing it aloud all the way because I love the track. Rushed to himanshu’s place flaunting my 10000K HID in the morning itself ;-). Haha! Reached his place and he asks me to wait for some 5 minutes. Till the time, I called Aditya and Varun. Two of the OutRIDErZ who are passionate, great friends of mine, yet super lazy, always late and liars who say they are in the way while they are in the toilet. Lol. Tried calling Gaurav and Sumit too because they had given no reply to me from the past two days and I expected and wanted them to be there. Both of their mobiles switched off.
Damn! Can’t forget this. Varun, who spoke all the English of his life today sms’d me “coming in 5,7 mins. Flying.” And I wondered, is he drunk at 7 in the morning? Lol.
0655 Hrs: Left his place and moved on to our meeting place – chappan dukaan. The hookah hunk himanshu stopped by the ATM to make some transaction.
0700 Hrs: We both were the first ones to reach. Then came Rajat, Varun, Navneet and lastly Aditya. I, Himanshu and Rajat wearing lids, Aditya and Varun wearing shades and Navneet bare eyed. Hats off to you prahji. Hehe! Our poha session had started and I was loving having that poha with these guys after a month or more. All the ‘iski maaro, uski maaro’ session started with non-stop nonsense. After a lot of leg pulling, the question came. “Chalna kahan hai?”. And the obvious reply from me “You guys decide” ;-). I always adopt the smartest way to come out of trouble. Names of places like dewas, mahu, choral etc. etc. came. A lot of abusals in Hindi, English and Sindhi came along with the names. Haha! And then after a lot of bak-bak, we decided just the road -
0740 Hrs: We left for khandwa road. We stopped by for some10 mins at the gas station, for everyone got the fuel filled and then we started with our ride, feeling the vibes. I started singing again and smiling under my lid. It clicked to me suddenly that I want to click :-).
0800 Hrs: I made everyone stop at the DAVV Takshshila Campus gate near the ATM. We started clicking giving stupid different poses. Our bikes posed as great as ever though. Love you my ZMA! Hehe! Navneet continued with his jokes and we all laughed like mad fools and passed our expert comments. Lol. Here someone shouted “What a chick!” and all rushed inside. We came back disappointed because you can’t call a girl like her a ‘chick’. Sorry. No offences and heart feelings. Again some more clicks and we move on.
0815 Hrs: We continued our ride and all speeded up according to our will. I did rev up my bike real bad from 7000 to 10000 RPM at times. I was at around 90 till we reached chlorophyll. Rajat was driving really rash and insanely. He was at the speed of 100+ Km/h. You call it excitement, madness or sheer stupidity. But yeah, all I know he was riding rash. He did overtake a truck while the other one was coming at a higher speed. Trust me, was some seconds away from something bad. I was just behind him and for a moment I lost my mind completely. I would have crashed looking at what this guy did today. Nothing happened though. Thank God! Even after he took such a stupid overtake, he didn’t stop rushing like that amateur rider and I had to rush real fast to get hold of him. I stopped him and I was so angry that I screamed like I never screamed in one year over any of the member of the club. I really thought he cannot ride all through the way on ghaats and if it rains, but he insisted to stay. I warned him and we moved on. Everyone else also saw the scene and were equally wanting for him to slow down. When you’re riding with a biking club, it’s a lot more than just fun. We moved on and stopped by somewhere in the middle to do some masti and click some pictures! Singing the Roadies track aloud, irritating some villagers there, doing a lot of ‘keeda’ and ‘ungli’. Roflcopter! Don’t remember the time for this though. Should be somewhere around 0845 Hrs. A lot of ‘thilvai’ was there without question. And to be frank, without all of the bakwas we guys do, it really cannot be this fun. I’m glad, everyone really mixes up well with each other and no one is that boring kinds.
0901 Hrs: Me riding my black sparkling ZMA, MP 09 LE 5679. I could listen to my exhaust’s melody which made me feel great. Was sure the NGK iridiums, k & n , splitfire and other mods were doing the perfect job. 5th Gear, 7000 Rpm, Speed 120,My trip meter reads 28.8 Kms and my odometer reads 21001 Kms. What a feeling! We started riding slower because we wanted to enjoy the feel and weather both. Also, we had plenty of time. The questions again popped up while on the way – To where dude? Aditya suggested kajligad, but because we had experienced his earlier referral pataalpaani, no one had the guts to try out this place. Haha! Pataalpaani was such a pain. I remember, everyone’s bike was in the service station the very next day after that ride. Lol.
Another reason to go further ahead was that we weren’t really satisfied. We wanted to ride more and go far. Vroom! We rush again. I had remembered till that time that we are half way to Onkareshwar. I thought for once… but then wasn’t sure if all would agree. But all were eager. We convinced each other and moved on. It took another one hour for us to cover another 36 Kms and to reach the bridge. There was a lot of traffic. A lot of 6 and 8 wheelers were on the way and the way was very busy.
1010 Hrs: Here we are! The bridge’s here. The sea’s here. We had reached our final point and we were so damn happy. The picture session started and so did the madness. Everyone took off their shoes and handed over their wallets and cell phones to me and went near the side. Not too deep, still there. Asked me to click some and I did so. Five minutes and my heart said, don’t miss it. I took off my shoes, handed over all the stuff to navneet and asked him to click us. Everyone gave funny and stupid, yet full of life poses. The pictures have come out so well that they make us smile. Not to forget, the jokes continuously going on with nonsense and pure bakwas. Yet, it made all laugh till the times they weren’t tired of laughing so hard. Great fun with the water, the bakwas, the pics, the bikes parked in style and that attention we get. Though, now we are used of that attention because no one usually sees so many Karizma’s together.
1030 Hrs: Our stomachs were growling and everyone was very hungry. We left from there to the nearby midway hotel and had poha, samosa’s and kachori’s. The desi flavour or to be more precise,
1050 Hrs: We moved on from the hotel and started our return journey with so many memories to cherish. We did ride a little faster while returning as every ride. The feel of riding in such weather, with such great company is really something one can’t put in words. Everyone had infinite thoughts and mixed emotions with themselves. A little bit of tiredness and dizziness also accompanied.
1120 Hrs: Just some 20 Kms covered and drizzling starts. Yet another Km and drizzling stopped. It started raining! It got real bad on the ghaat to drive while my helmet, my t-shirt, bag pack, denim all wet and all in mud. Again riding a little slow, a little fast because we knew, at whatever speed you ride, you are going to get wet for sure. The tires started skidding at some extra muddy places. But we continued riding looking for some place where we could get a roof to wait for a while. We found this place after 10 minutes. It was some police quarters which was locked. We waited there for some 10 minutes, clicked just a few pictures and moved on to chlorophyll as decided in the morning itself.
All the while it rained, it drizzled, it was breezy, it was too wavy also. Sometimes it was tough to control the bike. One time, it got so bad that I would have crashed onto this truck. I did control somehow, don’t know how! But still, I was so happy, excited, thrilled and content with the ride that I was smiling like never before on a ride. It gave me a new feeling and I felt on the top of the world. Everyone was tired still they had the same mind state as mine – Like never before.
1210 Hrs: We reached chlorophyll by this time and ordered for some coffee and hookah. It was obvious to talk about the rides, the dangers, the problems one faced, the things one felt and a lot more – the fun, the thrill, the excitement, the passion. Over all, it was a conversation or call it discussion which always concluded with this bottom line – A ride like none other, the best till date.
1320 Hrs: We all disperse and move on to our respective places with all about this unforgettable ride. Not to forget, also with a feeling to have more of such rides.
Today, the passion got a new feel, the excitement got a new level, the fun reached a new height, the content feeling reached its peak and I got so much more than everything. ZMA became more special than ever and I realized somewhere, I am right. Living it up was far better than just thinking in life.
Thank you all. Himanshu, Varun, Aditya, Navneet, Rajat and God.
I’ll never forget a single part of it.
Rajat’s rash driving, Himanshu’s ‘keeda’, Navneet’s jokes, the way Aditya laughed, the way Varun spoke all of his life’s English today itself and I am happy you guys felt lucky riding with the president Mr. F :P. You should thank me to bear all the crap you all uttered from your mouths and vice versa. Haha!
ROFLMAO !!
Cheers!! \m/
God bl3ss…
